Kankakee County Recorder of Deeds will only accept MYDec PTAX forms generated on the Illinois Department of Revenue website

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026

Kankakee County Recorder of Deeds will only accept MYDec PTAX forms generated on the Illinois Department of Revenue website: Mytax.illinois.gov/MyDec

First: You will need to be registered with IDOR to prepare your MyDec – then review the MyDec Preparer Access Procedures – go to “Help” tab.

After you complete your MyDec there are three steps:
1: Declaration Submitted
2: Declaration Accepted
3: Closing Completed
Print out and submit your MyDec PTAX form in “Closing Completed” status in its entirety to be presented for recording with your deed

If you are e-recording your MyDec should be submitted as a helper document with the deed.
